A Puka Shell is the worn apex of a cone shell, endemic to Hawai’i. Traditionally, Puka shells were worn by Hawaiian royalty as a symbol for protection and good luck. Puka Shell necklaces were also given to sailors for a token of luck and protection for their voyages. The Puka shells we use for our jewelry are hunted by our very own mermaids at the wings studio.
